What these technologies do
Cookies and similar technologies can store information on, or access information from, a browser or device. Some are required for a requested website function. Others can be used to measure visits, understand campaign performance or recognise traffic sources. UK rules distinguish between technologies that are strictly necessary for a requested service and non-essential technologies that generally require consent.
Necessary technologies
Necessary technologies support security, page delivery and the storage of privacy choices. They are not used to build advertising profiles. Preference records may be retained for up to 12 months so that the website can remember whether you accepted all available categories or chose necessary technologies only.
Analytics technologies
Where enabled with the required consent, analytics technologies may measure page views, session duration, referral information, device category and interaction with the enquiry journey. The purpose is to understand how the service is used and identify technical or content problems. Analytics identifiers are generally configured with retention periods of up to 13 months, subject to the settings of the provider used at the time.
Advertising and campaign measurement
Where advertising or campaign-measurement technologies are used, they may receive campaign identifiers, referral information, page interactions and conversion events. These technologies are not treated as strictly necessary and are only used where the applicable consent requirements are met. Typical campaign identifiers may be retained for up to 90 days unless a shorter provider setting is used.
Third-party providers involved in analytics, hosting, content delivery or campaign measurement may process technical information such as IP address and browser details when their services are requested. Their own privacy information applies to processing they undertake as independent controllers.
Managing your choices
On your first visit, the cookie banner offers a choice between accepting all available categories and continuing with necessary technologies only. You can revisit this choice using “Cookie choices” in the footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred lawfully before withdrawal.
You can also use browser controls to block or delete stored information. Blocking necessary technologies may affect some website functions. Browser settings do not replace consent where the law requires an active choice for non-essential technologies.
Changes to this policy
We review this policy when technology providers or legal requirements change. Material changes to non-essential technologies may result in the consent choice being presented again.
